I came to see Mr Gupta following a referral from my physio after suffering a dislocation to my right elbow from falling off my horse. I was about 5 weeks post original injury and had been treated at royal Surrey prior where I felt disappointed with lack of support from a pain and follow up perspective. Mr Guptas treatment and investigation of my arm was night and day in comparison to my previous experiences with orthopaedic surgeons. He examined my arm and hand thoroughly, listened to my concerns and explained clearly what he believed to be going on. He gave me utmost faith in what the next steps needed to be to work towards recovery and referred me to specialists to confirm his suspicions. The referrals were swift and mr Gupta explained the findings thoroughly and in a way I could understand. He provided the options and recommendations for surgery which consisted of Right elbow ulnar nerve neurolysis plus extensive arthroscopic arthrolysis/capsular release which was conducted within just a few weeks. I am 2 weeks post surgery and am over joyed by the results already that Mr Gupta has been able to achieve for me. He has always been kind, compassionate, professional and installed confidence whenever I have seen him. I have no doubt that without Mr Guptas intervention I would still have little to no movement in my right arm or hand and suffering a lot of pain. Mr Gupta has given me hope to return to full health and I couldn’t be more grateful. I am just sorry that I did not see him sooner.

Mr Gupta did a shoulder replacement as wear and tear had worn away any cartilidge in my shoulder and it was bone on bone. I was at first reluctant to have the operation but having suffered with reduced movement and pain for quite a bit, Mr Gupta assured me it was the only solution and, even though I still might have some restricted movement, I would be free of pain. He was quite right. 6 months after the operation I have no pain and full movement - I can swim doing crawl for 1,000 metres which was my aim. I'd delighted with the results.
